Situation in Germany (2010)


The state mutates into a monster and becomes the arch-enemy of the people when it assumes the right even to touch free intellectual life based on self-determined education. (Frank Woeckel)


We here thank all homeschoolers who have remained true to their ideal in spite of persecution by the state and even being incarcerated. By way of peaceful civil disobedience, these great German heroes and martyrs have forced the government to let fall its mask of democracy and freedom so that the brutal, cruel grotesque face of the out-and-out tyrannical state power has become visible to all. The perseverance and willingness to make sacrifices of these heroes of the homeschool movement have moved us to start this campaign.

In Germany homeschooling is at present illegal(2010). Parents who teach their children at home in an exemplary manner are persecuted by the state mafia and imprisoned. We understand something else by the right to education, by the way.


However, that is not all: the state mafia, i.e. the German authorities even go as far as dragging off children who are taught at home to the nation’s torture chambers – psychiatric institutions.(Cf. http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2007/feb/07020502.html, accessed on 02.05.2009.)


Something similar happens to children in Germany who do not want to smoke passively, who are also dragged off to psychiatric institutions. (Cf. In Germany you can thus smoke your child to death unpunished but you are not allowed to teach it at home. The conclusion of this is that what harms the child is allowed or even promoted by the state and what enhances its well-being is prevented with all means of state force. We do not need nor want such an unjust government. Let’s get rid of it!


This state-organized terror against homeschoolers has led to a wave of homeschoolers fleeing from Germany.(Cf.http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/jan/08010906.html, accessed on 02.05.2009). A homeschooling family that fled to the USA was even granted asylum because of the political persecution to be expected in Germany.(Cf. http://www.netzwerk-bildungsfreiheit.de/html/romeike_tennessee.html, accessed on 24.05.2011).


The persecution of homeschoolers is contrary to human rights. The guilty people in the state terror authorities must be held to account for crimes against humanity and obliged to compensate their victims!


The following statements have been made by people abroad about the state terror against homeschoolers in Germany, especially relating to the homeschool family Dudek from Hessen (Germany), who were sentenced to three months imprisonment without probation for exemplary homeschooling:


“The judge and the prosecuting attorney could not care less about the well-being of the children or the best mode of education. The fact that the oldest son of the Dudek family, while transferring into the local school passed all of the qualifying examinations with A’s (“One’s” under the German system) was left unmentioned. Indications from the local upper level senior high school indicate that there is nothing precluding a transfer into the upper level senior high school. The director of the school district office was visibly impressed with the meticulously maintained documentation on homeschooling instruction, as recorded by Juergen Dudek, the father of the family […] The Dudek Case is another backslide into an authoritarian state mindset, and into a politically motivated dictatorial judiciary system, which finds itself at odds with a modern, pluralistic world.

And even more: To incarcerate and imprison a mother of seven who is actively nursing a child bears witness not only to a loss of all proportion, but it is also an expression of ice cold inhumanity such as one finds only under totalitarian regimes.” (http://www.hslda.org/hs/international/Germany/200806190.asp, 03.05.2009)


Here the German government is described as an ice-cold, inhumane and totalitarian regime with a politically motivated dictatorial judiciary system. We could not have expressed it better. The government criminals with their tyrannical policy against the German nation also massively harm Germany’s reputation abroad.


“Germany has isolated itself worldwide by its harshly repressive position against homeschool families. UN Special Representative Vernor Munoz, while writing in his report “Mission on Germany” last year pointed out that “education cannot be reduced simply to attendance at a school.” “Distance learning and homeschooling represent […] valid options, which can be further developed under specific circumstances, where we also cannot forget the rights of the parents to select the most suitable type of education for their children, as set forth in Article 13 of the International Convention on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.” (http://www.hslda.org/hs/international/Germany/200806190.asp, accessed on 07.05.2009)


Homeschoolers as well as other people who put the state mafia in their place politically and ideologically or want to break or destroy it arbitrarily have to expect to have all their bank accounts in Germany blocked and plundered.  (Cf. http://www.learningfreely.net/index.php/2007/11/14/germany-at-it-again-neubronner-accounts-have-been-blocked/, accessed on 05.05.2009). Then they are unable to pay either bills or their rent, their telephone and electricity are disconnected, their business collapses, they cannot buy anything to eat ...


Most people in Germany are hit totally unprepared by these attacks from the state mafia, or at least those whom we know personally, because they had not expected such existence-destroying arbitrary action by the government criminals, for they had done nothing wrong after all. These victims of state terrorism are then totally paralyzed and finished. Their livelihood is mercilessly destroyed.


Note: In state tyrannies righteous people are persecuted and crooks supported by the government. Abandon your illusions that you can expect even the rudiments of right and justice from government institutions. Only if you are prepared for an individual and collective disaster caused by the state do you have a chance to survive or minimize the damage.

Once you have come under fire from the state terrorists, it is already too late in most cases. 


Against this background of experience of excessive state terror against homeschoolers it should be explicitly laid down in all freedom-oriented constitutions that any government interference in education is strictly not accepted in principle. The state has more than clearly demonstrated that it does not act neither with deliberation and moderation in its sanctions nor competently and by no means in a manner worthy of trust. Instead of promoting excellent individual education, it prevents it with excessive abuse of its presumptuous monopoly of force. The many homeschoolers persecuted by the state mafia in Germany are more than clear evidence of this.


The lesson to be learnt from this is that we should withdraw from the pernicious state influence with absolute resolve as far and as extensively as possible and not allow the state to interfere in our educational affairs in any way! We demand the end to governmental control over education!


We refuse to let ourselves be controlled and directed any longer by parasitic control freaks, who are well supported by the taxpayer, and by power-hungry sadists! We ourselves and nobody else will decide about our education and that of our children.


It is the job of the state representatives to serve the nation and avert harm from it and not to interfere in matters that do not concern them. If they, on the contrary, harass sincere, committed and righteous people, they lose any legitimacy.

We must not accept this any longer. Civil disobedience and a tax boycott are – when practiced intelligently and en masse – tried and tested methods, such as were used by the leader of the Indian freedom movement Mahatma Gandhi to protest against state tyranny (in his time the English occupying power). Germany used to be – at the time of German high culture – one of the greatest countries of the world in the area of home tuition. This outstanding tradition of a free intellectual life must be revived without further delay!
